The Society is a voluntary nonprofit educational corporation, organized for the conduct of research and education of the public in the use of base twelve in calculations, mathematics, weights and measures, and other branches of pure and applied science.

The Dozenal Society of America was established in 1945. Between then and now, some would argue there have been three distinct generations of organized dodekaphiles. There are dozenalists organized in Great Britain. This area hosts articles on the Societies and their Members.
